Program for the October 7th Meeting:

Ted Warren of Warren Light Craft
Ted Warren has been designing and building ultra-light, trimaran sailboats for 25 years before he and his son Zak started Warren Light Craft in Salem in 2005. He has integrated his experience, along with materials and engineering into the Little Wing, a lightweight, carbon-fiber kayak that received a gold recognition from the Industrial Designers Society of America. (IDSA)
Ted and Zac, Graduates of MIT, are committed to building the lightest, most seaworthy, and best performing kayaks available today. In a current climate of consolidation, Warren Light Craft is proud to be a small, innovative company pushing the boundaries of kayak technology. By combining excellence of design with leading-edge materials and superior craftsmanship, the end result is "a kayak for life.” Their innovation has lead to the development of a kayak which is half the weight of a normal kayak. The Warren Little Wing is 14 feet long and weighs just 26 lbs, compared to 52 lbs for a normal kayak. The reason for the difference in weight is design and materials. Warren Kayaks are constructed from Carbon Fiber. Although you would think a boat like this would be more than $5,0000, a Little Wing 14 is $3,785.
