Only 20 Shopping Days Until Christmas! Make it easy for your friends and family and provide them with the easy gift giving opportunity of buying a Salem Rotary Calendar or two. Be creative, bring them to holiday parties and take away all of the hassle of having to shop for Christmas. They will thank you for making gift giving so easy, and giving them more time to imbibe in a little holiday cheer!

Guests and Visitarians:
No visitarians, but plenty of guests. Viktoria brought Nora McNeil, Bill Lundregan brought Chris Casey, and Betsye Sargent brough Lydia from the Early Act Club.
Recognitions and Fines:
President Dave miraculously won a Football bet made with the Beverly Rotary President. The club will receive a $500 check from the Beverly President.
Liz Bradt announced the Interact Club is hosting a food drive for the Salem Mission. Please remember to stop by Costco or the grocery store and bring in items that are much needed! Salem Mission Director Mark Cody thanked us for our help with the Food Pantry. The need is great, please bring what you can. Suggested items include:

Boxed goods like pasta, cereal, pudding, rice, cake mixes
-
Canned goods such as fruit, vegetables, beans, tuna, tomato sauce, soup

Proteins that can be stored such as peanut butter, beef jerky, lentils, beans
Viktoria paid a recognition fine - her office, in coordination with Gold's gym had a sock drive for the Salem Mission and donated 150 pairs of socks.
Jim Haskell finished up his hiking season with another 60 miles on the Appalachain Trail.
I thanked Tim Clarke for all of his help in being the best Rotary Sherpa in the world and helping me complete a 50 mile trail run.
Roberta Cantor went to Vermont for Thanksgiving, and then spent the weekend with her grandchildren.
Gig is the proud father of the Pop Warner Quarterback.
Dave Benson paid a recognition fine. His business and another Salem business provided a donation to Habitat for Humanity.
Early Act reminded us that we can still donate ink cartridges.
Program for the December 2nd Meeting:
This was the annual business meeting. Rob Lutts provided the annual update of the Scholarship Foundation Endowment Fund. In sum, the fund is currently down 18%, it is at $350,000 and the goal is $500,000 by 2012.
President Dave presented the 4 proposed changes to the scholarship procedures. All four motions were passed.
