Program for the December 11th Meeting:

Special Presentation
In an absolutely bizarre case of good luck, President Dave won a football bet with Beverly Rotary President, Frank Kinzie. President Kinzie was a guest at our club and presented President Dave with a $500 check. Dave, have you thought of playing the lottery?
Speaker:
Jeff Shribman introduced his neighbors, friends and guest speakers, EK Rife and Michelle Poole. They gave a beautiful slide presentation of a recent expedition they took to the base camp of Mt. Everest. The intent of the trek was to reach base camp, and not to summit Mt. Everest. Michelle gave a wonderful presentation about the culture of Nepal, the Nepalese people and the sites and sounds of Katmandu; villages in Nepal on their 12 day journey from Katmandu to Base Camp and back,. The slide which was most amazing to me was the airport at the starting site of a trek to Everest. And we thought Logan was bad! Michelle shared some interesting facts including a slide of Tenghoche Monastery which is the highest Buddhist monastery in the world at 12,500 feet. Base Camp is at 17, 575 feet, and the summit of Everest is 29,000 feet. Thanks Michelle and EK for a very interesting and informative presentation!
