Recognitions and Fines: 

President Dave paid a fine of gratitude for living in a country where leadership changes peacefully.

Trip Mason took a trip to Pennsylvania.

Randy Burba went to St. Petersburg for his wife’s 40th birthday.

Mike McLaughlin went to the Dominican Republic.

Juli Lederhaus spent the long weekend in Montreal.  During the trip, they picked up a new puppy – half Maltese and half Yorky – a Myorky.  Finally, Courtney was accepted at Salem State – her first choice.

Bruce Whear and Heidi cashed in one of their auction items – a stay at the Hawthorne Hotel.

Viktoria Talebian recognized the birth of a baby girl to her cousin Rachel (for whom her daughter is named), and unfortunately the death of her brother-in-law from cancer.  Viktoria also announced that she is proud to have been on the North Shore for seven years, and had invited her entire staff to lunch with her.

Liz Bradt had distributed flyers to each table which members could use to advertise on behalf of the Salem High Drama Department.

John Hooper was pleased that the Governor has signed H1234 which now gives adopted children the same rights as biological children.  Also, Hoop’s wife Joan’s artwork will be on display at the Kensington Stobert Gallery (courtesy of Sandy Heaphy) with an opening reception on January 19th between 5 and 8 p.m.

George Orfaly paid a recognition because he’s received the “10 under 10” award from the Mass. Dental Society.  The award recognizes ten dentists statewide who have been in practice for less than ten years and have exhibited extraordinary leadership in their communities.

 

Program for the January 20th Meeting:

 

The 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama.  Thanks to the Hawthorne Hotel staff, we were able to watch the swearing in and inaugural address.

Next week we will be conducting a food drive for the St. Joseph’s Food Pantry, so please bring food items to the meeting.

The Auction is March 6th.
