Program for the May 5th Meeting:
New member Christopher Casey was inducted. A bunch of Rotarians were fined for not signing the book.
Tim Clarke introduced our speaker Holly Fulton. Holly spoke about the project she and other family members undertook when they found out their family had been active in the slave trade. The film traces the journey over 10,000 slaves made into New England from Cuba and West Africa. The reason for the project was to examine the topic of the history of race, slavery and racism and to show the New England complicity in the slave trade. For more information about the book and film you may go to the website: htttp://www.tracesofthetrade.org
