50-50 Pot:  The pot was $241 and the winner was Anita Blackwell's stepson.

Recognitions and Fines: 

  • No visitarians this week
  • Anita Blackwell had two guest - her stepsons Drew and Neil Dexter
  • Betsye Sargent brought Barbara McCall, her co-worker at the Phoenix School.
  • Randy Burba celebrated his 14th wedding anniversary
  • Frank Campbell enthuiastically gave the softball report and all that matter is we beat Danvers and we are in first place!
  • Rich Eisner celebrated 12 years of marriage
  • Anita Blackwell's father-in-law passed away
  • Malia spent the weekend in P-Town with 6 girlfriends
  • Liz Bradt and her family went white water rafting
  • Gig just returned from Seattle where he watched his son graduate
  • Rhinus returned from a vacation in Montreal

Events to be aware of -- Save the Dates!!

 

September 17 - Hold the date for the first fundraiser of the year!  The Rotary Poker Tournament will be held at the Knight's of Columbus in Salem.  Food and beverages are being donated by Kenny - thanks!  Mark this on your calendar and help our club achieve the objectives President John has set for the year - ending hunger in Salem  and helping Rotary International eradicate polio.  More details to follow.

Ray Hodge has returned home from the hospital.  Keep him in your thought.

The Board approved a new project for the club. We will be providing preparation and funding for a meal nce a month at the Salem Mission.  The first dinner is August 6 and Bruce Whear will be the team leader.  The following Rotarians also volunteered their time:

District Governor Ingrid Brown will be visiting out club on August 11, please try and attend.

 

And...the lunch menu for the next meeting:

Hamburgers with cheese on the side....why do I feel like the lunch lady who used to announce what the next day's lunch would be in elementary school?????

 

Finally, Juli is updating the roster.  Make sure youget any changes to her or make them on the website.
