First, Dave is looking for auction items for auction. Dave also is paying a fine for winning the poker tournament last week. Dave went all in 4 times during the night and won all 4 hands. The look on Ken Rothwell's face was priceless when the Jack was the only card Dave had a change to win came up.
RINUS OOSTEROK
Spent time in St. John the Virgin Islands.
SHAWN STELLATO
Was at a fundraiser with Patriot's defensive player Gary Geiton to support Pet's in Need. He also signed a college football player to represent him to get an NFL contract.

Spent 2 weeks in Israel.

Wanted to thank everyone for their support of the Poker Tournament. Not only did she have a blast she raised nearly $2,000.00.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
President John is pleased to announce that Betsye Sargent is the Rotarian of the Month. He presented Betsye with a certificate.
Betsye is a resident of Salem. She has one son Will 39 years old who is a teacher. She is recently married to Courtney Duke where they live in campus housing with their two dogs Fenway and Beckett. Betsye has a BA in History of Arts and an MEd in Early Childhood Education. Betsye is the Head of School at the Phoenix School in Salem. She enjoys reading books and walking her two dogs. Betsye is a great Rotarian and we proud to have her.
A special thanks to Ken Rothwell who sponsored the Poker Tournament last week. He did a wonderful job with the food as usual. The Boy's and Girl's Club is near and dear to his heart. Thanks to Ken they raised nearly $2,000.00.
Another special thanks goes out to Randy Burba and his two associates as well as Mark Leavitt, Dave Benson and Bruce Whear for preparing and serving the latest Salem Mission Dinner. We had another successful month.
Please remember that next week is the next Change to Change Lives collection. Bring all of your spare change and bills to donate to this wonderful cause. The Royal Order of Turkey's will be around to collect.
The next Board of Director's meeting is scheduled for Tuesday January 19th at 10:45am at the Hotel.
The World Peace and Understanding Dinner will be held on February 9th at the Danversport Yacht Club @ 6:00pm.
The Rotary District Bowling League will be starting again on January 25th. They will play at Sunnyside Bowling in Danvers. Salem Rotary is invited to participate so if you are interested in bowling please see President-Elect Bill Kielbasa.
REMEMBER! We need new members. If anyone thinks they know a potential Salem Rotarian, please bring them as a guest to a meeting.

Frank Cousin's, Essex County Sheriff
Sheriff Cousins spoke about how the Essex County House of Corrections runs and some programs they offer their inmates. Sheriff Cousins has spent the past 15+ years working with inmates to turn their lives around. He is proud of the fact a lot of the inmates enter his GED program. They have facilities in Lawrence, Newburyport, Peabody and Salem.
Viktoria Talebian was pleased to welcome 4 students from the Salem school system. Two students from the Salem Academy and two students from Salem High School. All 4 students spoke about the special qualities of being a leader. All 4 students were presented with an award.
