ANNOUNCEMENTS
President John is pleased to announce that we raised $420.33 for this months Change to Change Lives initiative. So far the club has raised over $2,900.00 to benefit St. Joseph's Food Pantry. Great job everyone and lets keep it up.
The Salem Rotary Club will be hosting a Celebrity Bartending Night to benefit the Scholarship Fund. The event will take place Tuesday May 11th from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at Finz Restaurant in Salem. We encourage all Rotarian's to attend and please bring guests. Post card sized invitations will be given out to all Rotarian's to distribute to family, friends and co-workers. This event will be a lot of fun. So far we have Rotarian's Ken Rothwell, Bruce Whear, Frank Campbell and State Rep. John Keenan committed as bartenders. We will have more celebrity bartenders named later.
Immediate Past President Dave Wescott received a nice banner sized letter from the 1st grade students at the Horace Mann School. They thanked him for providing books and reading to them. President John would like to take this opportunity to thank the entire Literacy Committee for all of their hard work.
Please make note that our meeting scheduled for Tuesday May 18th will be moved to Thursday May 20th. This is to accommodate a visit by the incoming GSE team from London, England. The Salem Rotary Club will be one of two sites in the District to host the team. We are expecting visitors from several area clubs to join us.
