ANNOUNCEMENTS

Meeting called to order by President-Elect Bill Kielbasa in the absence of President John Hall. Great Job Bill running your first meeting.

We have six tickets available to hear Ted Kennedy, JR at SSC. Tickets are $60.00 each or 2 for $100.00. It should be a very informative and social event.

Last weeks District Assembly was very well attended by President-Elect Bill, Jim Robinson, Tim Clark, Liz Bradt and John Neely.

Last Sunday Liz Bradt also attended the District Ineract Assembly in Woburn. She was able to see other clubs do with their Interact Club. It is important to note that the Salem Club is recognized as having one of the most complete set of student support programs in the entire District.

This months board meeting is scheduled for next week the 27th at 11:00am.

Don't forget the Celebrity Bartender night Tuesday May 11th at Finz. Please be sure to attend and bring people. This will our last fundraiser during President John's term. Lets have a strong presence show our support for President John.

Please make note that our meeting scheduled for Tuesday May 18th will be moved to Thursday May 20th. This is to accommodate a visit by the incoming GSE team from London, England. The Salem Rotary Club will be one of two sites in the District to host the team. We are expecting visitors from several area clubs to join us.

Swampscott Club Duct Tape regatta - we need a team to represent the Salem who is known for our marine trade. If interested please see Bill Kielbasa.

The Saugus Rotary Club is having a Casino Extravaganza on Friday April 30th at the Elks Lodge 401 Main Street Saugus. For additional information and tickets please contact Dan Pranka at dpranka1@comcast.net.

"QUOTE OF THE WEEK"

A soul without a high aim is like a ship without a rudder.

STUMPER OF THE WEEK

Mary's husband's father-in-law is Mary's husband's brother's brother-in-law, and Mary's sister-in-law is Mary's brother's stepmother. How did this happen?

LAST WEEKS STUMPER

A queen bee was buzzing, a worker bee was buzzing, a honey bee was buzzing, and a killer bee was buzzing. How many bees were in buzzing?

ANSWER TO LAST WEEKS STUMPER

One! There is only one b in the word buzzing.
