ANNOUNCEMENTS

--- We are pleased to announce that our Celebrity Bartending Event was a tremendous success. We raised $3,400.00 in just over 2 hours. We would like to Finz Restaurant especially owner George Carey and GM Susan Babine for the location, staff, liquor, event coordination and passed appetizers. We would also like to thank the following committee members and people who made this event happen:

Event Committee: Rinus Oosteroek, Dave Benson, Dave Wescott, Bob Dionne

Food Sponsorship: Frank Campbell, John Fisher, George Orfaly, Randy Burba, Viktoria Talebian, Jeff Hollaran and Dave Wescott.

Bartenders: State Rep and & Salem Rotarian John Keenan, Mayor Kim Driscoll, Salem Rotary President John Hall, Don Kelly Beverly Rotary Club, Bruce Whear, Sean Stellato, Frank Campbell and Ken Rothwell. Ken donated 25 pot pies as a promotional give away. Thanks Ken yet again for your generosity.

We would like to personally thank Don Kelly for recruiting Beverly Rotarian's and friends to this event. Their attendance definitely helped with the success of this event. Although, we are very competitive come November, we have a great partnership the rest of the year. A big thanks to Keith Linares who put up the signage at Riley Plaza.

Finally, on behalf of the entire Salem Rotary Club, we would like to thank Chairwomen of the event Viktoria Talebian. She spearheaded this event from start to finish and without her we are confident this event would not have been so successful.

--- Just a reminder that we have our scholarship awards lunch is June 8th at the Peabody Essex Museum.

--- We would like to recognize our newest member Andrew Barnes. Andrew was proposed by Anna Kulakowski. Please remember to reach out to Andrew, sign his book, and welcome him to our club. President John would like everyone to recognize that we have had 6 new members join our club this year. We are not certain, but he believes we are leading the entire district in new membership. Let's keep it going...

--- Liz Bradt lead the charge in last weeks job fair at Salem High School. The fair was on May 27th from 2pm to 3pm. We will get an update from Liz next meeting as to the details of the job fair.

--- I would like to take this opportunity to thank John Quinn who each week provides me with great photo's for our newsletter. We are lucky to have such a dedicated photographer within our club. Thanks John for your help...
