SPEAKER OF THE WEEK

Claire Kallelis welcomed Salem police officers Brian and Mark, who are old friends from the past.  They spoke to the Club about the effort and precautions taken regarding the Halloween festivities in Salem.

The meetings start in January for that year's events.  It is a team effort with 200 law enforcement officers involved, as well as vendor cooperation, etc.  Several law enforcement agencies, both state and federal are involved .  This year, there will be a concert on the common featuring Steely Dan and The Doobie Brothers, which will require extra protection for the public.  The Halloween events are planned similar to events such as the Boston Marathon and concerts held at the Esplanade.
