VISITING ROTARIANS AND GUESTS
 
There were no visiting Rotarians this week.
 
President Rinus encouraged those in attendance to bring a guest.
 

FINES AND RECOGNITIONS
 
Bob Conley took a short golf trip to Puerto Rico. He also keeps forgetting to bring his badge back.
 
Kathie Strout shared a thank you note that was sent for Rotary support.
 
Francesco Sabelli thanked the connections he made through Rotary for the quick sale of his house and purchase of a new one.
 
Joe Amico invited the group to his installation as the pastor at Tabernacle Church.
 
Liz Bradt shared her daughter’s adventures in job hunting that included potential work, as a scuba diver, cleaning aquarium tanks, and actual work, dog sitting a Shiba Inu for $20/hour.
 
Rich Eisner wanted to let the group know that thanks to missing Dutch Drinks, he had a great poker game on Friday night.
 
Bill Kielbasa let the group know that thanks to Dutch Drinks, his game was not great.
 
Gerritt Bradley didn’t get to see a key penalty at his daughter’s hockey game, but expressed his pride in her ability to take smart penalties.
 
Viktoria Talebian enjoyed her first Dutch Drinks, and also shared a story about helping a young woman stuck in the snow. She encouraged her Rotarians to help someone in need.
 
Jason Consalvo stated that he was happy to be at the Tuesday meeting despite a number of near cardiac arrests thanks to Sunday’s AFC game. He thanked everyone for their Polar Plunge donations and encouraged those who pledged to pay their debts. He led the group in a round of “Happy Birthday” to Trip Mason.
 
 
 
 
 

ANNOUNCEMENTS AND CLUB BUSINESS
 
From President Rinus:
  • The club sends its sympathies to Bruce and Heidi Whear after the passing of Bruce’s mother.
  • Thank you to the past Presidents for speaking at last week’s meeting.
  • Thank you for all who attended Dutch Drinks.
  • Jason Consalvo received a mini-grant to support the club’s recruitment efforts.
All are invited to Joe Amico’s installation at the Tabernacle Congregational Church on January 27th.
 
There is a leadership meeting on January 28th.
 
February 9th is the date for this year's Polar Plunge. Please make sure to get your pledges in ASAP.
 
Claire Kallelis and Leslie Levesque received their badges.

SPEAKER OF THE WEEK
 
Rob Lutts was the speaker of the week.
 
He updated the club on the Scholarship Foundation Endowment Fund and reminded all that we are well on our way to reaching the goal of having $1M in the fund by 2022.
 
Following the update, he gave an update on the world economic outlook.
